I had a sneaking suspicion that Anne Enright was going to win the Man Booker Prize despite having not read any of this year’s nominated books. Apparently it has upset some people, but not me. I’ve bought, but not yet read, all Enright’s previous fiction books. While I await the arrival of her latest and now prize-winning ‘The Gathering’ from Amazon, I am going to contemplate how much Anne Enright and I have in common – Irish, female, graduates of Trinity College Dublin. Shame that’s where the similarities end.
