Mamma Mia

Well I know what over half a million Norwegians are getting for Christmas. 1.1 million of us here in Norway have already been to see Mamma Mia! The Movie in the cinema and now, according to Aftenposten, 500,000 copies of the DVD have been pre-ordered before its release next week. That's a lot of DVDs for a population of 4.6 million.

Just think: Pierce Bronson straining himself, God bless him, to produce a tune in households all over the country on Christmas Day. My daughters want the DVD of course. ‘All our friends have seen it,' they say. I’m still not sure though how to address the issue of how a girl can have three fathers to choose from. It’s all about love of course. I’m just not sure that I can give a convincing explanation of how Meryl Streep loved one of the three men a little bit extra but she can’t actually remember which one. Oh mamma mia.

It's funny because I've been wondering how to recommend this film to my mom, who will, I'm afraid, focus on the sleeping around part (she'll see that as a bad thing...) and not the fun singing and dancing. Maybe this film isn't for everyone...

Johanna, I'm so glad you enjoyed your writing course; it sounds incredible. And you got to spend serious quality time with Donovan Leitch---amazing! I also want to apologize for never acknowledging the Blog Award you gave me two weeks ago. What a bitch I am! A self-involved bitch, obviously... I truly, truly appreciate you thinking my blog deserved an award. Coming from a real writer, that means a lot. Thank you.

Will do Mel.
Michele, thank you for your very kind comments and PLEASE don't be silly about the award. If you are a self-involved bitch then so am I. Oh dear, I am actually so not sure where that leaves you ;-)

I haven't seen that movie but I'm dying to. Thanks for your views. It makes me want to see it more. I guess that movie will be good for our movie marathon this weekend. Thanks!
