The talking telegraph pole.

It's not a great picture but this woodpecker was making a helluva noise today. Surely a sign of that Spring is on its way (again). Gosh we might even have daffodils and crocuses by May at this rate, sneer.

Can relate, we have guinea fowl here that wake us up at 5am. Its so freaking wrong. My kids finally all sleep through the night til like 8am and now the BIRDS wake me up! have taken to hurling potatoes out my bedroom window to disperse the buggers. Sad, but true.

Irene, I sympathise. I'd wear a poncho if it wasn't so darn wet most of the time.
Five-browns, thanks for the comic image although I know how frustrating it is. Here, as much as I love the light of Spring and Summer, it seems to shine in the kids' faces both ends of the night so they end up cranky, and I even crankier. And as for those darn birds singing in the morning....

I have not heard talking telegraph poles, but I have spoken to a few in my time, and run into a couple. They have been silent on all occasions.

Aah! We've obviously got smarter than average telephone poles in Tanum.

I can vouch for Five-Browns, she is wicked!! As for me I just cant stand the doves with that sweet irritating whoo whoo ing that they do all bloody day. A friend of mine has a huge oak tree in her garden and it had a pair of resident Eygptian Geese (exotic so not welcome), these two were pretty noisy. I noticed recently that they are not there anymore and even more recently overheard one of their guests talking about shooting the geese!!!!
