A room with a view

Norwegians are like animals coming out of hibernation. It seems that almost every householder in my neighbourhood is out today sweeping, trimming, and raking away the detritus of winter. Tyres are being changed, trampolines re-erected and flower beds hidden for months are now being tended into life again. And then there’s my next-door-neighbour's renovation project. This is the view from my daughters' bedroom window. The cliche ' a picture is worth a thousand words' comes to mind.

We dont have a distinct enough change in our weather to get this excited with the season changes. Something I have noticed about the Northern Hemisphere, I dont even get frost in my garden in winter never mind snow. LOL

But how do they know its not going to come back? Winter, I mean?

Friday I went for a two hour walk in Ashdown Forest with a friend and her dogs, in shirtsleeves and jeans. (Me, not the dogs). We found a rope swing over a stream, made by some kids and had great fun playing.

On Sunday the temperature plummeted and we had 6 inches of snow in the morning and were building snowmen in the lane in the afternoon.

Er, the arrival of Spring does seem to have been a false alarm. We had snow on Sunday, cold rain all day yesterday but today, Tuesday, it looks like Spring is back. Talk about a tease!
